I ventured away from my initial storyboard to make this video. I decided that it would be better to show that it is possible to incorporate trends and trendy pieces without having to go crazy buying every item you see in the most popular color or with the most popular pattern. This relates to my course topic because I think it is important to understand that everyone can wear popular fashion trends however they want, if at all, and that it does not need to be overbearing. I decided to show two different peoples’ clothing racks to explain that whether you are invested in knowing and wearing the latest trends or not, you can still incorporate items that will stand out as “trendy.” I did not receive any feedback about my Draft Video, so I stuck with the same video as my final because I am confident that it was done well. I tried to export the video multiple times, all different ways and I could not get rid of the border around the video. Although this was something I was hoping I would be able to figure out how to fix, I still think that the video conveys the message that I intended for it, and I am happy with the way it turned out.

Draft Video Story
I ventured away from my initial storyboard to make this video draft. I decided to show two different peoples’ clothing racks to explain that whether you are invested in knowing and wearing the latest trends or not, you can still incorporate items that will stand out as “trendy.” I used the tools in Premiere Pro to cut my videos and audios and combine them together to create one, continuous video with smooth audio playing over. I had some issues exporting the video from Premiere Pro and am still having issues getting rid of the border around my video as seen in the embedded Youtube video. I am going to keep trying to figure out how to get rid of the border and hopefully will have it fixed before it is time to turn in my Final Video Story.

Final Audio Story
This audio is from two separate interviews with two different people. Person number one is a fashion school student and is fairly knowledgeable about fashion and fashion trends. She follows the trends in her own wardrobe as best as she can and is sometimes even inspired to twist popular trends a bit and wear them in her own way. Person number two is a psychology student who is not as knowledgeable about fashion trends. She does not go out of her way to follow the trends – she just wears what she likes and what is comfortable.
I thought it would be interesting, and a valid question for this blog to ask where both people learn about fashion trends, whether they decide to follow them in their own wardrobe or not. Both of them agreed that social media has primary influence over fashion trends and that celebrities and influencers on social media are the reasons that trends come and go so quickly. I believe that the quick come and go of trends is due to the millions of people who see these celebrities posts, and by the time that they have the pieces to match, the celebrity has already posted a new photo with a new fashion trend that everyone wants to follow. This also explains why fashion hotspots such as Los Angeles, where many celebrities live, is typically about six months ahead of a fashion trend than the rest of the United States.
When asked about what the upcoming trends are, person number one had an answer and was very confident in saying that animal print and abstract shapes as motifs would be trending over the summer, as well as bright, vibrant colors. She says she knows this because of the collections seen at Paris Fashion Week. Person number two was not as informed and was slightly unsure of what is to be trending over the summer. However, the two had a similar response of saying that bright, vibrant, neon colors will be popular over the summer, which is also what professional fashion forecasters say as well.
These interviews are valuable to this blog because it is important to see where women learn about fashion trends, how much women care about popular fashion trends and how they wear popular fashion trends – if they do at all.
To revise my Final Audio Story post from my Draft Audio Post, I only added a few more details to my write-up. I added a bit more information about the two people that were interviewed to distinguish between the different fashion styles and lifestyles they have. I also added to the end a couple of reasons why I feel like this audio is valuable to this blog. I did not change my audio because I felt as though I asked all of the questions I wanted answers to, and the audio flows from a question, to person number one’s response, to person number two’s response, to another question and so on. Overall I am pleased with how this turned out and I think it is great for this blog.

Final Logo

This design was inspired by a clothing item hanging on a hanger. The design represents a hanger, but instead of a clothing item hanging on the hanger, it is a sign that says “#TRENDING.” This hashtag was inspired by the very popular Instagram hashtag that is used to tag all of the hottest fashion trends from around the world. Many social media users follow this hashtag, and therefore see every post tagged with “#trending” which is how these users stay up to date with the trends that are popular. To create this design, I used the pen tool to create the top part of the hanger and the triangle-like bottom part of the hanger. I then used the rectangle tool to create two small rectangles to act as the “straps” that are holding the sign on the hanger. I filled those rectangles in with black so that they would not distract from the rest of the design. I used the rectangle tool again to create the sign and I filled in the rectangle with a light pink color. I chose this color because it typically is a representation of femininity and fashion and that is what my blog topic is centered around. I used the type tool to add the text “#TRENDING” and I left the text black to place emphasis on it against the pink rectangle behind it. I then used the ellipse tool to create a circle that goes all the way around the design, making it look more put together and unified. I filled the circle with a bubblegum pink color so that it would contrast the light pink color of the sign while still representing the ideas of femininity and fashion. Overall, this design represents the main points of my blog which are women, femininity and fashion.
In my revision of this logo, I stuck with the same design as in the logo draft. I made some minor edits, such as rounding the top of the hanger using the pen tool and connecting the triangle-like part of the hanger to the top rounded part using the pen tool. I made these changes because I thought that realistically, the top of a hanger is rounded much more than it appeared in my logo draft and I definitely knew that I could improve my design in that way. I had initially left the bottom, triangle-like part of the hanger detached from the top, rounded part because I thought it would look artistic and creative, using some negative space to create the design, but when I looked at it again to create my final logo, I thought it looked incomplete and decided to connect it, making the design look more put together and realistic.
