This design was inspired by a clothing item hanging on a hanger. The design represents a hanger, but instead of a clothing item hanging on the hanger, it is a sign that says “#TRENDING.” This hashtag was inspired by the very popular Instagram hashtag that is used to tag all of the hottest fashion trends from around the world. Many social media users follow this hashtag, and therefore see every post tagged with “#trending” which is how these users stay up to date with the trends that are popular. To create this design, I used the pen tool to create the top part of the hanger and the triangle-like bottom part of the hanger. I then used the rectangle tool to create two small rectangles to act as the “straps” that are holding the sign on the hanger. I filled those rectangles in with black so that they would not distract from the rest of the design. I used the rectangle tool again to create the sign and I filled in the rectangle with a light pink color. I chose this color because it typically is a representation of femininity and fashion and that is what my blog topic is centered around. I used the type tool to add the text “#TRENDING” and I left the text black to place emphasis on it against the pink rectangle behind it. I then used the ellipse tool to create a circle that goes all the way around the design, making it look more put together and unified. I filled the circle with a bubblegum pink color so that it would contrast the light pink color of the sign while still representing the ideas of femininity and fashion. Overall, this design represents the main points of my blog which are women, femininity and fashion.
